Avatar Reading of A Poem by Ardy Lee 2020 ”THE CITY”
#avatar #virtualhuman #mbLAB
BACKGROUND:
INSPIRED by Sir Patrick Steward (Jean-Luc Picard actor) reading of Sonnet during pandemic 2020, I am thinking to do the same with virtual human.
So this is a quick reading of ”The City” (sorry it’s not exactly a sonnet, it’s more like a poem), performed in realtime inside Blender 3D. The Avatar character is generated using mbLAB addon.
Face animation data is captured using iPad Pro / iPhone X true depth 3D camera.
Other tools used:
* FaceIt addon for facial rig in Blender
* FaceCap for face and audio capture, to generate shapekeys blendshapes data for my Avatar
* AddRoutes addon OSC bridge into Blender

NOTES:
– I realized the eyes reading down into the book when captured on the other device looks less appealing, compared to if the character eye balls is looking at the audience.
– This short reading is around 5000 frames, rendered in realtime so the process is taking around half hour to render as video.
