BSLIVE / Simple 3D Character Creation Using Blender 3D Tutorial (Blender 2.90)
#Blender3d #3DTutorial
In this episode, I am showing you the whole process of making a basic 3D character, with a few methods that I think make a fun simple workflow. This is probably Blender tutorial for everyone, not for 3D professionals. It is less intimidating and more accessible this way.
For this, I am using just ”vanilla” Blender. No nodes, no addons.
Topics I cover:
1) Blocking character heads, simple features for eyes, nose, ears, etc. Character head is probably the most important for a simple character.
2) Using Remesh Modifier to blend and mesh your block
3) Multi Res and Sculpting
4) Vertex Color
5) Baking texture into Lower Poly Mesh
6) A bit of shading, lighting, rendering.
7) Lighting using Sky Texture for Cycles
8) Using Skin Modifier to create body arms legs of the character.
9) A bit of Texture Painting
10) A bit on camera and setup for Eevee realtime render
In reality whole topic to cover Blender basic features like this should be covered at least in a few days. A more advanced things need whole semester, like 15 weeks or years. While doing that you also maybe create your storyboard, plan, story animation, etc..
Then you practice it on your own. And repeat..
My personal passion is in making character design that can be animated, used in game engine or as augmented reality to tell story. I value originality more than anything. Quality will improve if you have patience and spend a bit more time to give more love to your creations.
I am using Blender 2.90 and will mention a few remarkable features like Sky Light for Cycles and Modifiers stacking, etc.
* Here, I did not cover rigging bone and animation. However, you can export your creation as FBX into Mixamo, give it animation and bring it back into Blender.
Enjoy Blender, and thanks for watching, have a #blendful time!
