LIVENODING Generic Chair Based on Cylinder Using SV Nodes
In this video, I am explaining my method and creation of a generic looking chair that that is based on SV node CYLINDER’s shape and pattern as a template.

The node tree looks hairy complex but actually simple to explain as I take it apart.

To make more sense of node tree like this, normally the best way is to look at PARTS of what you are looking or trying to make yourself. In this case, we have a basic chair, with 4 different parts (seat, seat rails, seat back, and legs) and each parts supposed to have some parameters that we can tweak.

I keep mentioning that this chair is based on cylinder template, that is because it is. Cylinder has top bottom part and also the edges that goes around holding the top and bottom part. That’s really what I use to make the chair. And SV nodes is pretty good at that slicing and separating edges and polygon face.

I might attempt to recreate this chair in near future, with a better modular parts, so that I could easily tweak the chair parts position, and also I could switch each part with a different design.

Enjoy!
