BSLIVE First Look at Pixar USD Export of Blender 2.82

In this episode, I am taking my first exploration of USD Export of Blender 2.82 Beta.
I have big interest in this USD format in my own study of 3D assets and AR pipeline.
Having USD support in Blender means we could ultimately have a better pipeline ala Pixar to build a complex 3D scene that can work more seamlessly across different 3D packages and hopefully also for real time Augmented Reality AR.
The USD Export in this version of Blender still does not support a lot of features but it is a good start. I would still use GLB / GLTF bridge to do my USDZ most of the time.
I noted a couple of thing:
– No PBR Material support for now. Just basic Diffuse, Metallic, Roughness.
– Bone animation does not work
– Hair actually works
– Instancing works!
– Animation of object works
