How to create a Minimap with Unity
In this tutorial I show how to create a Minimap with the Unity Game Engine like I added it to my Unity Low Poly Game Kit:

The steps are basically: You have a UI 2D Canvas in your scene and add an image as border to it, then add another Raw Image on top. To this raw image you have to assign a rendererd texture that you can create in a folder of your project.

The last thing you need is an orthographic top down camera that renders the texture and a C# scripts that follows the player and rotates along the rotation of the main camera – that’s it.

What I also added to my Low Poly game kit is the feature to have different shapes for the Minimap’s border.
