Blender has lots of mystery Add-On hidden underneath. One of them is this CubeSter Add-On that is hiding inside Advanced Object.
I am giving you a demo of this add-on while also comparing it to similar node in Sverchok (Image Decompose) that basically can turn an Image into 3D Voxel Art.
CubeSter is really pretty cool. Perhaps we can remix CubeSter with Sverchok?
