This twenty-minute talk will demonstrate how Blender’s unrivalled intuitive interface empowers creatives, regardless of the project’s scale. By providing technical simplicity, Blender allows creatives to focus their energy on what truly makes their work stand out: their creativity.

Director and VFX artist, Guido Ekker, brings over 10 years of industry experience. As a permanent member of the Amsterdam-based Post Panic, Guido witnessed the seismic impact of Blender has had on the industry. Learning Blender on the go, he refined his abilities while creating his short sci-fi film, “Still Here.” Not only would this project have been impossible without Blender, but Blender’s real-time rendering played a vital role in exploring the film’s aesthetics and story. Using Still Here as a case study, Guido will demonstrate how Blender’s capacity for discovery, play, and improvisation is unmatched by any other software.

“Still Here,” a 7-minute fully CG film, was directed and animated by Guido himself. The lessons he derived from this award-winning project were then applied to larger productions, such as ALTS by adidas Web3 adventure and our epic commercial spot for Garena Free Fire. In the final part of the presentation, Guido will showcase specific examples from these projects to further illustrate Blender’s impact on creative work.
