BSLIVE Update Workflow MMD Virtual Avatar Into Blender
#ARVR #MMD #VirtualAvatar

In this episode, I am once again talking about MMD / Miku Miku Dance, Virtual Avatar workflow that you can bring into Blender, explaining how you could also import the dance motion data and sound and have a full dancer performance, potentially can also be exported for Augmented Reality AR.

I think MMD is quite a successful collaboration amongst many online CG artists, dancer, animators. In 2020, we can see how VR and LIVE YouTube performance became much common, and having a unique customized Avatar like Apple’s Memoji become a unique trademark for creative expression online. You don’t always need to use your real face or persona.

In this episode, I show you the basic process from importing, to setup the flat light. If you really want to see it as AR, bake the texture, export as GLB and see your character in real world. With USDZ, it could work, just the baking is slightly complicated.
