How to Create a Glowing Fresnel in Blender
In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to create a simple node set up to create an emitting glowing fresnel (layer weight) in Blender Cycles Render Engine. We’ll be doing this procedurally in Blender by simply creating our fresnel, adjusting it’s radius and mask, converting it to an emission fresnel, fixing and adjusting problems with light rays, and finally adding it over your object’s material.

You can use this effect to help highlight certain models like planets, the sun, game collectables, or use them for halo effects.
